Multiple Views per Diagram

We’re thrilled to share that we’re working on the Multiple Views per Diagram feature, coming soon!
This will allow you to create and manage multiple diagrams based on different subsets of your database, making it easier to focus on specific groups of tables.
Whether it’s for business domains, workflows, or stakeholder groups, this feature is designed to simplify complex databases.
What’s Coming:
- Focused Views 🔍:
- Create multiple diagram views that highlight different subsets of tables and relationships, helping you focus on specific sections without overwhelming your workspace.
- Business Domain-Specific Diagrams 🌐:
- Design diagrams tailored to specific domains like Customer Support, Feature Usage, etc. Create custom views to match your business or stakeholder needs.
- Customizable Designs 🎨:
- Easily adjust and re-arrange tables and relationships. Design each view independently, making sure your diagrams are relevant and organized.
Store - Pick - Design Pattern

With Multiple View per Diagram, diagrammers is enabled to perform the Store - Pick - Design
Diagramming Pattern:
- Store 📂: The schema definition (tables and relationships) is stored in a central location, becoming the source of truth for the physical database schema. Reuse the same schema across multiple views without duplicating data.
- Pick 📋: From the schema storage, choose the tables you want to include in your diagram. Select specific groups based on the business domain or workflow that needs to be represented.
- Design ✏️: Customize your diagram by defining new relationships, rearranging tables, or adding new ones. Any changes made in the design phase sync back with the schema definition, ensuring consistency.
Practical Use Cases
- 🗂️ Layered Views : Host different diagrams for each layer of your database (like bronze, silver, gold layers) within the same project.
- 🌍 Domain-Specific Diagrams : Organize your tables into categories like Customer Support or Feature Usage and create separate diagrams for each domain. This means no more manually deleting unnecessary tables or creating separate projects—just dump the schema and pick what you need.
